I Wish I Could Do That

We all have moments when we see someone else doing something great or impressive, and we say, "I wish I could do that."

For some, that feeling might come while watching the baseball playoffs.  You might say, "I wish I could hit a fastball like that Derek Jeter."

Someone else might be watching a band play and think, "I wish I could play the guitar half as good as Eric Clapton."

Or, maybe you're interested in politics and you say, "I wish I could fly on a broomstick like Christine O'Donnell."

Okay, to keep this discussion balanced, maybe you're a fan of the former Illinois Governor and you say, "I wish I could groom my hair to look like a small furry house pet."  The point is that we're always seeing other people doing things that we wish we could do ourselves.

I'm no exception.  For the life of me, I don't see how people can talk on the phone while wedging it between their ear and shoulder.  Sure, I can hold it there, but it won't stay positioned at my ear.  Those who can perform this feat make it look so easy!  But my troubles don't end there.  I'm not even comfortable holding the phone up to my left ear!  I'm right-handed, and apparently right-eared as well.

While there are many things that we can't do as well as we'd like, there are other things that we can do, but that others can't.  And as soon as I figure out what that is for me, I'll write another post!
