MacGruber

This year we were treated to another good Super Bowl. The whole game was close, and the winner was in question until the very end. Bruce Springsteen was exciting, and the FCC had no malfunctions to be concerned about (unless you were watching on Cox Communications in Arizona). The commercials were OK, but nothing really spectacular. One surprise was the Pepsi “MacGruber” commerical which had also appeared during Saturday Night Live the night before. I happened to be watching SNL and thought it was just another one of their skits, but it turns out that it was actually a paid commercial that aired during commercial time – not during show time. It was a pretty stupid skit, but not a bad commercial. What gives it redeeming qualities is that Richard Dean Anderson appears in it as the original MacGuyver. And like I always say, anything with MacGuyver in it can’t be all bad! They need to do a MacGuyver reunion show. If Harrison Ford can make his Indiana Jones comeback, then they could bring MacGuyver back, too.
