Mesmerizing. Addictive. The TV version of velcro. I’m talking about the PBS program Antiques Roadshow. It’s not a show that I’m going to schedule my week around, but if I’m flipping through the channels and see that it’s on, I can’t turn away. Each item that they appraise grabs my curiousity and I have to keep watching to see how much it’s worth. Is that a priceless eighteenth century timepiece, or just your average old clock? I’ve got to know. The show makes you want to go to a yard sale and buy something.
