Furniture

What’s the deal with furniture these days? (Imagine that in your best Seinfeld impersonation.) It seems like furniture from 10 or 20 years ago was a lot more practical than it is now. The next time you’re in a furniture store, look at the recliners and couches. The back rests are generally curved convex (so you tend to roll off) instead of concave so you can lean into the corner. Especially couches. Am I they only person that likes to lean into the corner of the couch? With no side back rest, there’s no corner to lean against. What’s up with that? Is this not formal enough for the furniture market? It’s time to design practicality back into furniture and add this feature back. Until then, I’ll just hold onto the furniture I have and hold off on getting anything new. OK, I feel better now.
